Affordable Temporary Health Insurance

How can I find an affordable way to get clinically evaluated for ADHD?
I am a junior college student studying biochemistry, and was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in grade school. I have met up with the disability services office at my college, and they have given me the temporary accommodation of books on audio. It has helped enormously, raising my GPA from a 2.7 to 3.8 over two years.
However, the disability services office is now threatening to take away the accommodation unless I get a more recent evaluation for ADHD, which runs about $500. I have researched every option I can think of, including my school’s health center and my insurance company, but I just can’t find funding to have this done. I’m really pretty desperate for help here. Does anyone know where I could find funding?
See if you can find a disability specific group that might have low cost services for you. A learning disability association or Pacer, or CHADD.
Check out this national organization for ADHD and look for a local chapter perhaps they can point you in the right direction – since you likely have limited resources you could find someone who would take you on a sliding fee based on income if you can’t find someone for free.
