Building Regulations Insurance
laws in the construction of the fireplace …?
I live in Maine and just bought a house in March. I've had two chimney fires in about 6 weeks time. The latest to cause damage to floors and ceilings. I need to find the regulations regarding building a new fireplace. I have done some searches, but I'm having trouble finding anything. I have no insurance on my house … and we are paying for damages. I would like help finding information please!
Chimneys should be 2 "higher than any other part of the roof within 10 'of it. Also, stop or green wood wood glue on it (plywood or particle board). They are a good source of chimney fires.
