24 July 2007 - TRACK OUTREACH
Hi everyone!
It’s already being two weeks since we left for our missioner trip, its incredible how time flies.
On the 28 of June we flew to Sidney, Australia. Here we where working with the Island Breeze ministry of YWAM (Youth With a Mission). They are pioneering a new base in Rooty Hill a suburb in Sidney.
During this first week we where working along side with two other DTS (discipleship training school) teams, together we helped Island Breeze with the maintenance of the base, intersession for the people of Rooty Hill, we also prayed for the purchase of a new home for the base and did prayer walks. God has big things for this city and it was an honor to be part of the pioneering stage of Island Breeze Sidney.
On the 7 of July we said goodbye to the cold and dry weather of Sydney, and flew over to the humid weather of Thailand.
Our time in Thailand was short because our final destination was Cambodia. So after an hour train ride to the Sidney airport, a 9 hour flight to Thailand, a 4 hour sleep in Thailand fallowed bye a 4 hour bus ride to the boarder with Cambodia and from there a 9 our van ride, we manage to make it safely to Phnom Pehn the capital of Cambodia.
And here is where we have being living for the past week. The first two days where for orientation, a time set for us to get a better understanding why the people of Cambodia are how they are. They teach us a bit of culture and history.
After being at war for 30 years Cambodia is now in a developing stage. That is why this time is so crucial for us as the body of Christ to be a part of it, history is being re-written and it’s up to us to make Jesus the main character.
In the past few days we have worked distributing water filters in an area of the country where poverty is overwhelming and where children die from severe cases of diarrhea.
We have also worked with Love in Action orphanage and also have being taking pictures for the publication that we are working on.
The adventures are just starting. I would like to ask you for your prayers so that we may keep healthy and also for us to be able to find favor with the organizations that handle the cases of trafficking children so that we may be able to take the photos that we need to create a bigger impact in peoples lives and also create awareness of the issues that are going on in this country and many others.
