Home Schooling High School for years
homeschooling during high school years can be a fun and a time rewarding for both the child and parents. This time can be used to conserve, maintain and even deepen a relationship with your child for a period of high stress of their lives. This can be a time to build trust with your child so that they are willing to listen to the advice I would like to share with them during this time of lives. Also, as a Christian parent may be the time to guide your child in their Christian walk and help with any questions you have for your relationship with the Lord is yours, that will help them as new options and decisions come their way in the coming years.
As your child enters high school record year maintenance becomes very important. You'll want to start recording the things your child does so you can report them for reasons of college admission. This is the time to start looking at the requirements of the top choices of three college your child is considering attending. This will help to know what you need among students incoming freshmen. In addition, consult the requirements of the state in which he recommends a high school student before graduation. Some things we learned on the road is to start writing a record of each book read during the years of secondary school either for free or reading. Keep up to date with their records, to help if necessary to present them for scholarships or grants.
Keep a record and record of your child's extracurricular activities are as important as recording of the notes in academic classes. For homeschoolers this is important because sports can also be counted as credit in physical education and extracurricular activities. Universities are involved in activities outside of a child just to prove that it is a well-rounded person, sports, 4-H, part-time work is not important to a university as a student is involved in just having a well-balanced life and are active in academic and extracurricular activities.
During this time your child's development is important for them to start learning life lessons while still in a safe environment and still have as a sounding board to learn from them and have some input into their dreams and decisions. This is a good time to teach about finances, if you have a vehicle its time for them to pay the bills that are produced from that vehicle, I hope that there is a payment on it, but be sure that has to be paid, gas, maintenance, such as new tires and oil changes, here is a great article on oil changes. All this is to teach them that as they prepare for out for their financial account, there are things that are going to be responsible and this is a step towards learning this responsibility.
This is a busy, exciting time for your child. They still have their school work to continue, but they are busy with extracurricular activities, and many with jobs to help them win the money they need for their special purchases. It is also a time for teenage parents to start paying more attention to record keeping to help our teens to take the next step in their educational process and be there to listen and give sound advice to their children what they will look at their lives.
