Renting a room and insurance?
Can you get renters/contents insurance if you are renting a room in someone’s house? I am asking because I have about $5000 worth of electronic stuff and the people I am renting from do not have home insurance.

Yes, at least from my insurer. Check with your car insurance, usually they can roll the renters into that payment. It’s a great thing to have. I have insurance that covers 300K, plus my property of value of over 12K, and it’s only $80.00 a year.
When I applied for mine online, they just ask me the address and I had to fill out how much value my things are. It doesn’t matter if it’s an apartment or a room, if you are renting you are renting.
