Is 120,000 a decent salary from 2 people?
That averages what me and my gf would make together. We have no kids . Would this afford 2 nice cars?( audi,mustang,mini coop) or maybe just a year accord? As for food clothes, insurance, bills, miscallaneus, gas, etc plz help.
Save as much money as you can before you spend it on brand new nice things. The more you have in the bank and in a variety of legitimate, low risk investments, the better the buffer you have against any problems that might arise.
Think of it this way, make it a game to accumulate 6 months of each before-tax salary for each of you. Better yet, go for 12 months. Live cheap (but not so cheap it affects your professional career).
While bank and CD interest rates are extremely low, and stocks have low dividend returns, that’s still money to spend (after taxes) that is independent of your working income. Make it a game to live off the invested money and just save all the working money.
