What I can do with my children vaccines?
Well, I know that some this will sound horrible. But I have a son about to enter kindergarten. I have never been vaccinated other than when he was born. I feel very sick to get shots and I'm 27 and I do not feel comfortable putting him through misery I did. I know that in some states have exceptions to see a doctor and have signed, only recently moved to Kentucky from another state and have not established a regular peditrician due to any type of insurance. The school does not admit it until they have shot records on file with them. I called the health department and say they do not want to give shot unless you have a current immunization before. But I have none. Does anyone have any recomindations as to what should or can do? I absolutley I adore my son and he has never been sick other than the common cold. So I do not want anyone to think I'm a horrible mother.
I just wanted to make sure that you are not a horrible mother. Anyone who cares enough to educate themselves about vaccines and choose to be advocates for their child deserves to be treated with respect! We homeschooling, so I do not have to deal with the system, thank God. If I had to, begin to discover what are the current laws in your state. You should find a clause in the legal MumboJumbo describing an "opt out" form available in your state. This form is basically the right to choose their beliefs. You must sign and deliver to the school system. Do not let them intimidate you. You're not the only mom in KY that do not immunize their children. Good luck to you, and God bless you for defending what you believe
