Employment Insurance Benefits Canada

What are the requirements for Employment Insurance benefits of a spouse in Canada?

My husband and I currently work in the same facitilty, likely to close within the next year. We are starting to look for work elsewhere (now live in a remote northern town) and I wonder if I am one of us finds a job somewhere else that is required for the spouse to obtain benefitis IE? The revised government website does not answer that question, but I know that there are programs out there so that the unemployed spouse can get benefits and relocation of employees when a spouse is. Does anyone have any experience with this?

If your spouse paid UI premiums then are entitled to benefits. No difference if you move or not .. as a matter in fact, it is willing to relocate to find employment will be a bonus for you. If one of you will find employment and have to move, then even help train UIC another career if you can not find work. Keep them informed and will not cut benefits.
