Why do I have to pay unemployment insurance when I'm under 18?
So I have a part time job as a student, I am now 17 and have had this working since I was 15. Every week I'm sure deducted job, not much, but it certainly adds up and I get angry when the end of year I am not in a considerable amount of money that could be used to pay for my education up. So, if I lose my part-time job, I do as a student to obtain unemployment benefits? It seems unlikely, why am I paying each week? I'm in Canada … Specifically Ontario ..
Yes, if you lose their job through no fault of their own (such as layoffs or lack of work) should be entitled to collect EI.
