The Disastrous Republican Health Insurance Plan Under John McCain
While everyone’s lips is gun toting VP candidate, “lipstick on a pig connect” and “Drill Baby Drill” the real problems of the economy such as energy independence, foreign policy, education and health to the background.
A lesser known problem is the McCain plan for health care. With the free market and less regulation is clearly a failure (Lehman Brothers, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Bear Stearns, Enron, etc.) would McCain plan, the employer sponsored group smashed Health insurance through force workers to be insured on their own, in the “free market” and take policy which require underwriting, distribution cost, high deductible and of course, higher premiums.
How so? The group plan would be to tax only and employees. The employer would be required, the tax money from paycheck to retain the employee. Younger, healthier employees will forfeit any money and will go without insurance, or looking for an individual> Health plan for themselves leaving older, less healthy workers to plan for the group until the premiums become so expensive, employers reduced the plan as a whole. Then the older employees will have to search for individual health insurance in the individual market.
And the carrot on the stick? Be a tax credit of $ 2,500 per person and $ 5,000 per family permits used to provide health care and pay too much (what more?)would be deposited into an HSA. With current contributions would be close to $ 400 per person per month $ 1500 per month family tax credit is only a bandaid for a hemoraghing family household, where the health insurance premiums now an item with food, mortgage, heat, gasoline, School – etc..http://www.healthplan.pannipa.com/2009/11/the-disastrous-republican-health-insurance-plan-under-john-mccain/
The plan would McCain try to make all government restrictions and regulations on health insurance, so that people would be “free” to take a plan in each dropState. This also means that the state regulations as long as the insured would be removed are protected. The staff would develop on their own and unprotected in a free market system to benefit insurers.
The really frightening is that this is not a secret. Look up John McCain’s website and you will see the plan. In the first presidential debate, Senator Obama’s health plan and gave McCain ignored him but did not bother to respond. The media havenot even reported on this, but it potentially affects every person that a group health plan, has you and your family. So forget the nonsense about lapel buttons, teenage pregnancies, lipstick, “Drill Baby Drill eighth,” etc., and more on this proposal because we could all costs, blue or red state, very much. Have a Democrat or Republican, let your local representatives know what you think about this plan.http://www.healthplan.pannipa.com/2009/11/the-disastrous-republican-health-insurance-plan-under-john-mccain/

Income tax health care cost deduction question.?
My wife and I had a child in October that was 2 months premature. As a result I’m sure the hospital costs are going to be a bit high even with insurance. Our daughter just came home 2 weeks ago but we have not seen the bill yet. My question is, if the bills come in after the first of the year, do I take the deduction on 2009 when the services were rendered or in 2010 when the bill was payed? If we pay the hospital in installments over time, would that affect the answer? Thanks.
Payed… hehe. Remember kids, don’t drink and type. Thanks Gary.
You are a cash basis taxpayer so the medical expenses are based on when the bills are paid (not “payed”).
I hope this helps.
Gary
