NOW, WHY WOULD ANY COLLEGE STUDENT NEED HEALTH INSURANCE?
Many of you would have been previously covered by your parents’ health insurance until you began your college years. It’s easy to believe that nothing like this would happen to you. But honestly, are you really indomitable? Accident is defined as an unexpected and undesirable incident that creates some sort of harm. The keyword is ‘unexpected’. In fact, being so active and busy in college actually increases your chances of having an accident. It could just be a simple fall when rushing somewhere, resulting in a broken arm. Although that might only break your piggy bank, anything more serious might break your parents’ as well.
By considering the consequences of not investing in a health insurance, you are thinking as a mature and responsible person. Many of you may realise that you do actually need one but you may be afraid of the costs. I know sacrificing your pocket money for future protection against medical bills may be a difficult decision to make. Don’t fret. There is good news.
Most reputable colleges offer a good health insurance. You may want to buy one of those. One advantage of getting one from your college is that you may not even have to pay cash for the insurance. You can pay it through your financial aid.
If you are buying a health insurance elsewhere, you will need to do some research. Regardless of where you buy this from, always read the terms, limitations and conditions of the plans. Know exactly what you are covered for. Compare a few and select the best for you. Health insurance plans for college students are usually affordable and provide decent coverage.

Is there all-inclusive health insurance for college graduate students?
I’m about to turn 23, and that means I can no longer be covered under my family’s insurance plan…since I have to find my own policy now, is there anywhere I can get information on health insurance policies for grad students (in FL), possibly at a discounted rate? I would also like to find a policy that includes vision and dental, if possible. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks!

If you are healthy then there are plenty of good places to get a cheap FL health insurance plan.
Some of the top companies to consider include:

5. Assurant
Watch out for plans with very limited benefits like discount programs or from companies with a lot of complaints like Mega Life or United American.
