How do I know if my life insurance policy is good?
I keep hearing all the horror stories of life insurance policies is not good. I have a policy through AARP, and New York Life. Does anyone know of a way you can refer to someone about the reliability of my policy.
Not that the policies are not good, is that it's not really suit your needs. New York Life has been around since the 19th century, are a solid company. Policies, as AARP, which are sold through insurance companies are often very basic, as sufficient for the funeral expenses or to cover your spouse for a while. If you are worried, contact a local NYL agent (find one in the phone book and have the logo of NYL on your ad) or call the home office NYL New York directly and give the number of agents to help you understand the policy you have. It costs nothing to have an agent contact you, provided they do buy another policy from him / her.
