Life Insurance Agents Job Description
What career should I think?

I currently have a job that is full time and that's fine. It's in an insurance office. but I really hate the insurance industry. I'm going to have a baby in July and I want to go part time, and probably will do some minor work that does require a lot of stupid me the responsibility-wise (as an insurance agent for many mis-there are legal steps you can make it too stressful). Tho someday want a career again. I would like to work with the poor / poor children to improve their lives. Tho not as a teacher. or do something to encourage people. I'm in a RUT right now trying to figure out what they do and i cannot think of a description of the actual functions that doesn't need to go back to school for 4 years to do it. (I have a baby coming, a mortgage and other bills. My husband has enough money good, but we can not take more education debt at the moment). I just went to 1 year of college. nothing similar to insurance, or finance please.

Have you thought about working for a nonprofit agency? Their salaries are not as traditionally high as the industry, but there are benefits such as flexible schedules, or work with nice people. His insurance experience would be useful (the attention to detail, service customer financial records) to get the job, even if that's not what you want to focus. You could work on the reception or human resources or accounting, and move to more media, such as the design of outreach to immigrant families, etc. Meanwhile, while the child / baby is small and if not full time childcare, you could volunteer in a kindergarten or elementary school. There are probably 30-80% of children in a particular school that need help in recognizing their letters and learning to read or do simple math. It's really rewarding. Some positions are paid, but the hours are very low. Is very well that you have the flexibility to consider their options. Enjoy baby!
