Life Insurance Beneficiary Trust
how would you feel if you mother basically told you that she did not trust you with her life?

My mother recently was signing up for life insurance and she put me down as her beneficiary but she had said to be that she was going to change it over to my little brothers name when he get older. I later told her mom that hurt my feelings and she said to me that the only persons she would life her life in the hands of is my little brother and my grandmother. What she said hurt me so bad that i cried. It seems like that she does not like me and my 18yr old brother that she has started neglecting. Once he turned 18 she threw him away.

That’s horrible. I would be devastated, but you shouldn’t take it so personally. Your mother doesn’t seem quite right, I don’t mean that to be mean but it’s not a kind thing to say to your child and then the fact that she’s started neglecting your brother and stuff. If she doesn’t trust you that’s an issue she must overcome. I could understand a preference because some people are more able to make decisions better than others, they can see the situation more clearly but it doesn’t seem like that was why she wants to change it:/ basically the fault seems to lie with her rather than you. I base this on what you’ve written here so I could be entirely wrong but you shouldn’t take it too personally. I mean think about it, it’s just a piece of paper. And who would want to make the decisions which come with that paper?
