Aren’t there some bargains out there for life insurance now?
SelectQuote people telling me no, but they keep bugging me to sign. I can’t help but think that the life insurance business is desperate like ANY other business in this economy. How can I capitalize on this and get a good DEAL on life insurance for the long haul?
The likely fallout to all this is that insurance companies will have to increase their reserve requirements, which tends to make rates go up. However, there is a large cost and bureaucracy companies need to go through to change rates. That’s why they do not change dramatically over short periods of time. Right now might be a good time to buy, especially if there’s a chance you might die between here and there.
People will always die. There is always a market for life insurance, regardless of economic conditions.
SelectQuote is an insurance broker like any other – we all have the same conflict of interest. I would check with at least two other sources and make sure no one was trying a bait and switch by offering “preferred plus” or “super preferred” when you might not get it because of family history, cholesterol, or some other oversight.
