Found dozens of policies life insurance on goods. Most 40s, 50s, 60s. How do I find out what happened to these companies? I google for it, but they do not exist, and can not find any reference as to who took charge. Is there a central place I can reference to determine who bought these companies? Most policy of $ 200 to $ 500. Thanks for your help.

You can try www.ambest.com They do ratings and reviews of insurance companies, and usually a list of mergers and acquisitions. Or you could try the State Insurance Department.
